Can't convert *rm or *.rmvb file to *.mtv

When I tried out MP3 Player utilities version 3.11 to convert my realvideo(*.rm file extension), error message pops up with message No this type of codec, can't create this type of source filter, then I tried to look for help section, notification area points out that in order to convert realplay, quicktime ans mpeg2 , we need to install the codec. My question where can I get the codec in order to successfully convert realplayer file to mtv format

cykoay,

Have you tried the SLD Codec Pack 2.2 from our site yet?
You can get it from going to Downloads (on the left hand side menu bar) -> Tools -> Drivers/Codecs.

Try installing that and then try converting your .rm files to .MTV using the converter.

Let me know if it works or not.

Admin, thanks for your prompt reply, actually before I post the topic in this forum, i tried SLD Codec Pack but it was unsuccessfully. I checked through SLD Codec Selector, seems like there was no realplayer codec listed.

cykoay,

Can you play the realplayer files on your computer? As far as I know, the SLD Codec pack should have Real Alternative bundled with it.

Try downloading Real Alternative 1.48 from here in that case: http://www.free-codecs.com/download/...lternative.htm

Hope that helps.

Re: Can't convert *rm or *.rmvb file to *.mtv

I finally come out the way on how to convert realvideo into either amv file or mtv file. Here are the tools that are needed, I managed to find a cracked version of rmconverter(boilsoft rm converter) to convert rm file into wmv file format first. Then, amv file or mtv file wouldn't be any problem for me. But one thing found out by me is my mp4 player(my mp4 player is same as posted by Donkez) can't play amv file bigger than 10MB, while for mtv file, it's ok. I not quite is it the firmware problem or player limitation, will try to find it out.

cykoay,

Thanks for posting.
I was going to suggest you convert it to anothe format as well, but figured it would have been better if you used the original .rm file instead as files generally loose quality after conversions so that was why I didn't suggest it. Also, if you then convert it to .AMV, then it will loose quality again.

I've just uploaded RAD Video Tools used to convert video files to other formats. You can download it here. It's FREEWARE. If you have time, can you try using it to convert and see if that converts it for you fine?

We try to put freeware software on this site to help everyone out and support the developers :).
