Format Player?
Hello! i have a Question how Do I format my player?
|
Re: Format Player?
Rillee,
Either format using the MP3 Player Disk Tool from MP3 Player Utilities 3.68 or MP3 Player Utilities 3.57. Or format it from Windows from "My Computer" or from Disk Management. Hope this helps. If it solves your problem, please put [solved] in the subject of your original post. |
Re: Format Player?
i tried the MP3 Player Disk Tool... I only get a error message it says Not supporting this type disk.
and from My Computer can i format to Fat32?? |
Best to format as FAT instead.
NOT FAT32 as it's not recommended. |

Rillee,
Sorry, I have a tool that will let u do this. I can't remember where I left it :( Once I find it, I will upload it and let u know. It will let u format to FAT within Windows for bigger size drives. |

Rillee, Just uploaded a new tool which might do what you want it to do. It should let you format your player as FAT. Check out the Format Utility for USB Devices tool downloadable from here. Let me know if that works for you or not. |
Re: Format Player?
THANSK just one Question will the firmwire be left in the player after format?
|
Re: Format Player?
Rillee,
Yes. Firmware is part of the hardware board, not software enviroment, just like your bios in your computer. You may format as many times as you get the dreaded 'format error'. The HP tool rillee works ! Use only fat16 Pplease post your results w/ it... Iridium |
Re: Format Player?

is it possible to get more space? |
Re: Format Player?
Rillee,
Sorry to hear that. Unfortunately, there are many nasty sellers out there who will modify a 96mb or 128mb memory chip so that it shows as 512mb or 1 gb etc. in windows. Try this: Hard reset : Switch off player w/ switch for 1 minute, then back on. Check memory by going to system/memory on unit. Then check w/ xp : right click on drive xx/properties/..... post results. What did you reformat with? did you try this ? : http://72.14.203.104/search?q=cache:...s&ct=clnk&cd=2 What size player was it ....512mb? 1 gb? If nothing works, you should return to seller. Please say what steps you take and what worked... I. |
Re: Format Player?
When i bought the player and i connected to the computer it had 4GB storage memory but now i tried to format a few times and i only got 110MB left..
Sorry but i dont understand what you wrote: Hard reset : Switch off player w/ switch for 1 minute, then back on. i switch of the player for a minute but i dont think i did what you ment... |
Re: Format Player?
Rillee
How much did you buy it for? Reason why I ask is I'm surprised to see a 4GB mpx player. I haven't seen one that has 4GB. I know this because all the manufacturers I have contact with in China only produce to 1GB players. |
Re: Format Player?
Please check "memory info" in "system utilities" menu of player.
You are not the 1st to have this problem. I suggest that you return it to the seller for a refund. 4gb chips are not available yet. Max is 2 gb, unless it's a HDD player. You may learn something here: http://forum.s1mp3.org/viewtopic.php...ht=lost+memory Good luck ! I. |
Re: Format Player?
ok... my player has been hacked i think... before i format my player i looked in memory information in the system menu and it had 4GB.. :?: and now only 110Mb. is it possible to get more memory atleast 256MB??

Re: Format Player?
Rilee,
Read this : http://www.mympxplayer.com/viewtopic.php?t=262 I think the only option, if you cannot return it to the seller, is to re-flash it w/ original firmware, which you may find on the CD that came w/ it. Look for a file w/ .bin extension on CD, then download the tools available on this site, and most importantly read all directions on this site. Please ask Admin for help. Good luck, and back up FW first. I |
Rillee
How much did you buy the 4GB player for? It seems a LOT to be honest. All the Chinese mp3 manufacturers I have contact with have never released a 4GB model of their players - too expensive. |
Re: Format Player?
well.... i dont know relly a friend bought me my player... :? maybe it was some stupid idiot hacked my player...
