Can you upload your txt file to this site? I can take a look at it and see how it looks on my players (I have a few to test it on ).

Also, try downloading the sample TXT file I have on the site and see how it plays on your player: http://www.mympxplayer.com/dload.php...le&file_id=128

I kind of posted how to do this in another thread, I had a 1.5” player and text is displayed in a very simple format. Each page is 8 rows. Each row is 16 characters. Line returns show up as spaces. There is no intelligent word wrapping.

Knowing all this you can type out decent looking pages in notepad. Remember that SPACES are characters. Use a font with fixed sizing. Highlighting text also shows up your invisible spaces.

So you can type 15 CHARCTERS then return for the next line like this:

123456789012345
- - - - - - - -
These are 15__
Character Rows_
Plus a return
That makes 16-_
Total character
- - page 1 - -

or something like this for full 16 character lines:

12345678901234561234567890123456123456789012345612 345678901234561234567890123456
_______________-_______________-_______________-_______________-_______________-
If I type 128___Spaces Across___A line then thatwill be one fullPage.

that last line shouuld show up on screen like this:

If I type 128
Spaces across
A line then that
will be one full
Page.

relaxxx,

Definately interesting reading.
Yo've obviously thought about this a lot. Good for you.
I've definately learnt abit reading your post.

Only thing is I'm alittle confused about it....... I will have to spend abit more time workign this out and testing it on my player.

Thanks for your input and knowledge.

It would probably make more sense if the fonts on this page were of uniform width for all characters. Copy and paste to notepad and “select all” and you should see what I’m trying to show. The main idea is you need to keep track of characters including spaces to avoid broken words.

thats's why I typed:
1234567890123456...

to show me where every 16 characters are but it doesn't work on these fonts here because each character can be a different width.

I might write a program to format text to look better on these players but I sold my 1.5" player and waiting for a 1.8" to show up. If it does the same thing I will attempt it.

Default About the text formatting..

I think you could just use Calibre to reformat in bulk for you once you have the template made.
Since you know its 16 characters etc etc.
Dunno really because i have never tried it that way but it should work just fine.
(Plus i would not be patient enough to actually read with that kind of format )

Regards

Nicolas
