Default [solved] Turning on the player!

I have something that looks like a super small Ipod Mini and when I turn on the power switch at the top it goes to the hourglass and then to a short animation of a hand twirling a pen around, then it shuts off! Under the screen it says SONY but I don't know if its real i couldnt find anything on sony's website. Above the screen it says NW-E302. It works fine when I have it connected to the computer. I haven't messed with the firmware or anything like that. Any help at all would be appreciated! Thank you in advance. :P

Hi,

Does your player look like this one here? http://www.mympxplayer.com/album_showpage.php?pic_id=23

I also have this player.
The beginning animation is quite generic of the guy twirling the pen, and no it's not a Sony player .

If it turns off straight away, what you have to do then is try to follow these instructions here: http://www.mympxplayer.com/viewtopic.php?t=4.

You will need to set the sleep timer to a higher value as it looks like it's timing out too quickly and going into sleep or suspend mode before you can even do anything. You will have to keep pressing the button though so it doesn't go into sleep mode while you're doing it, that will be tricky...

Good luck with it.

Kalim,

Read the Knowledge Base here: How to: extract firmware of your player using the S1fwx tool.

This will extract the firmware of your player into a .bin file.

To upload it, go to DOWNLOADS --> Firmware --> Uploads by Members section and upload your firmware file there. I will check it out, then approve it and make it available on our site giving you credit for it .

Kalim,

Yes you did it right.
Just a question, can you add to the description of the upload you did and put in some more details like what's in the menu and what games you have (if you had it on your player) etc.... please?
