[solved] Recording not working

Hi...
FIRMWARE DETAILS:
FW: 5589v1.9B
Core: 3.5.37
date: 2005/03/15

Got a new nanoclone 2 days ago..immidietly did a firmware copy,checked all features, all OK!!, did a format to check if i've been conned about the memory...no problems there, full 2GB did a format today to include the encrypted drive feature...evertyhing seemeed normal all features working fine...was listening to the radio and thought of recording a song and voila my player reboots!!! switched off the player and switched it back on, tried voice record and it reboots again...did a firmware update,no help!!!still the same problem...
i have an idea of waht the problem is, when i first got the player it had a two videos, some text files and a coupla folders preloaded,now that i formatted it i think the player is missing the old folder system!!!! can anyone wid a "virgin" untouched player gimme the original folder details???

when u did the firmware update was it the same of the ver that u had if so try updateing to a lower or higer version but make sure it is the right firmware

thank for your suggestion dragon34..
i flashed my nanoclone wid the firmware i had copied from it!!!cant get a better firmware now can we??? when i first got my player recording worked jus fine...now everything works except recording....this happened after i formatted the device using mp3 disk tool...this is very odd...doesn't look like its happened to anyone else....well all suggestions are more than welcome!!!thnx in advance!!!

SOLVED!!!!
quite simple solution..jus formatted the disk...everything back to normal...heh heh heh...these are really tricky players...jus plain odd!!!any ways thanks for all the help!!!will be an active member on these forums from now on!!!!i'm hooked wid these players....

Do you have the firmware or can you upload the same for me? or otherwise can you tell me how to backup my current firmware for future use?

If you had used the search function then you would've found the answer. v3 firmwares can be extracted using s1fwx. You can get it in the download section of this site or on http://s1mp3.de/ .
