firmware questions
 

Sorry this has been answered before i'm sure . . .I want to change the start up screen etc.

This is what I understand (theres a gap in my knowledege in the middle)- please tell me if I am wrong elsewhere!

1) use s1fwx to extract firmware
2) run repair.bat
3) now do i make a backup of the dump.bin or dump.bi$? (in case of probems later on)
4) Do i edit the dump.bin or dump.bi$?
5) do i need to run repair again before using the player upgrade tool? what file do i use with the upgrade tool?

Have a look at our Knowledge Base instructions: How to: extract firmware of your player using the S1fwx tool located here.

Step #14 saids to use the NEW "dump.bin" after the repair. But do read the instructions as it explains it fully for you.
