what kind of fw?

I have a MP4 Player with the following fw inside:
ACTS16D_16_SZG 22/07/05

Where is possible to find an updated fw? Need it because seems that the ON-OFF button is not function. When turned on, immediatly goes OFF.
If plugged to a PC or to its charger and disconnected when is ON, it function normally. Maybe there is a FW problem?
Thanks in advance

gil64,

This player should not do that.
It sounds like faulty hardware .
Can you return it to seller?
If not please see link below. You may need to disassemble, and short out player to' adfu ' mode (recovery mode) .
Look here:

or here:

It almost sounds like a bad soldering job at the switch/ or battery. Not a FW problem.

Let us know how you get on....

gil64,

I would check the "sleep" and "suspend" settings on your player. It might be that your player is set to go to 'sleep' or 'turn off' after 2-3 seconds. Redicious as it sounds, this has happened on a few people's players.

What you need to try and do is quickly get into your [Sys Setup] and change your "darkle" settings. You need to play around with it and see if you can change it before it turns off.

Have a look at this knowledge base: How to: Set sleep and power off settings from here.

Try that and let me know if that works.
