What is the diskdrive format on the mp3 player?

IF it is FAT/FAT32 or NTFS it shouldn't be a problem.
Otherwise just use the upload program you should have got with your mp3 player.

I had one of the first prototypes of mp3 players made by D-link with 32mb storage.. i hade to connect that one by the printer port..and change something in the bios. But I hope that is not your issue

Try connecting your player to another USB port as well as connecting it to another computer altogether.

If it's still a problem, then the internal flash might be corrupt and might need a format.

Let me know.
