problem with selecting musicalbum folders
hello. I have one of these nano lookalike mp4 players in south africa, and am having a small problem. when i first got it you can select which folder of music to play(which artist), but after a week or so, if you try play a specific music folder, it always plays Root track, so I have to skip tracks till I FINALLY get to album I wanna play. does any one out there know a solution to yhis? PLEASE!

Re: problem with selecting musicalbum folders
make sure the repeat setting is set to 'normal'. that should solve the problem. When you find the folder you want to play, press the play button, not menu

Re: problem with selecting musicalbum folders
hey! thanks for the help,
I uploaded the new firmware on to the player, and now it seems to be working. I actually imoprt and sell these mp4 players in my country, and they selling really well, I just gotta make sure that I can solve any problems my customers have, as the last thing i need is a bad retailer reputation! i wonder who actually the manufacturer is. these are a nice product, but the manufacturer just dont have a clue about customer service... |
new theme installation
another question, i have downloaded a new theme from this site, now how do I actually install it?

Re: problem with selecting musicalbum folders
Check the knowledge base section of this forum and it tells you there.
basically, you need to use 2 pieces of software to extract the firmware and then modify it. To change the theme, you just replace BMP image files to create a new 'theme' for the player. takes a while to do but worth it! |

Re: problem with selecting musicalbum folders
donzai,
I'm the same as you. I sell these mpx players in New Zealand. Decided to start up this site for the purpose of sharing my obsession with this player and to help people with mp3/mp4 (I just call them "mpx" cause it's easier). In terms of your question about manufacturers, LOTS of manufacturers in China produce these players. They all use the same generic casing but have the option of different board manufacturers to choose from. That's what causes the most problem with people updating their firmware. Unfort, not all firmware is compatible with each other. I strongly suggest you put a policy saying "we will not refund a player if it has been incorrectly flashed with an incorrect firmware". |
Re: problem with selecting musicalbum folders
Hi Binh,
finally its all making sense! lol! you have done a great service by putting this site up, as I would be in a very difficult position if I had not received the usefull info available. these really are a great product price wise and feature wise, I just wish the factories would understand to test the units properly before they send out millions of them! what type of warrantee do you offer to your clients? |
donzai
I offer 12 months manufacturers warranty - return to base (ie: customer pays to send it back to me). I do test all the products before sending them out to customers though. I also reskin the player too :). |
Re: problem with selecting musicalbum folders
yo Binh, what do you mean by"you get them re-skinned?'
