hi,
windows knows my player is there but when I launch extract.bat it wont see my player which is definately set as h, it says "bad command"
what now ?

What does your player look like?

It looks like the BOARD that operates your player is using either a SUNPLUS or SIGMATEL solution instead which unfort is not detected by the s1fwx tool. It only detects the ACTION type boards.

its one of those black with silver back nano lookalikes but slightly taller, 1.5 inch screen, 2 gig

That is definitely an actions board so s1fwx should work.

What ver. of windoze?

Try it on another computer, or a different usb port.

Try to re-download, your 1st install might be corrupted.

Can you try it on an xp machine?

How about different usb port? If data is corrupted thru that port it may result in 'bad command'...
