How to store videos into your MP4 player?

Hello.
I have a MP4 player bought straight from China. It was made by the "Beijing Xingyuehuacai Digital Technology Co. Ltd company and it's name is "MP4 GM600". I'm just wondering how do you store video files into your MP4 player using USB? I've converted my video files' type to .amv, created a folder named "MP4" in my MP4 player (using USB) and added the video (.amv type) into the MP4 folder I created but it still doesn't work. It says there (in my MP4 player) "No files". I tried adding my audio files into a folder named mp3 (in my MP4 player using USB) and it worked. Can someone help me please? I've wasted a week just to find out how to store the video files into my MP4 player :(
Please reply to my e-mail hilman123@hotmail.com or if you have MSN Messenger please add hilman123@hotmail.com

P.S. Sorry for double posting. I've just realised that guests cannot reply in
any threads so I added my e-mail.

What happens when you long press menu 3-4 secs.
Will it let you choose 'movies', or 'video' ? What happens when you select play?
Are your original files something amvconvert can handle? What is the original file type ?

No it doesn't let me choose moveis or video. The file is not there so I cant selecet play >.> . I think it can handle anyways I tried one of your examples (in downloads section) the pen tricks.amv but the mp4 player still says no file. The original type of the video is rmvb
By the way, I am the guest

Welll,

We may have your answer.

These players(amvconvert) only accept certain file types for conversion to amv format RM, RAM, etc. are not accepted. You must search www for a real media convertor 1st.
So, 1-convert rm to avi or mpeg
2- convert avi,mpeg w/ amvconvert
Files should then work.

Post your results....

Re: How to store videos into your MP4 player?

Pity this amv convertor does not convert mpeg4 itself ... I've got tons of Mpeg 4 movies that are optimalised with ImTOO convertor ... strange that an mp4 player does not play or convert actual mp4 's ..

Does that mean I can't use Mp3 Player Utilities 3.68 to convert my rmvb files to amv? Because I've tried converting using the Mp3 Player Utilities 3.68 and added it into my MP4 Player and it still doesn't work  Please help me :( . Ah and can you guys tell me how to add the files into the mp4 player using usb? Do I have to create a folder with certain name?

ketiakbusuk,

I have no problems converting rmvb files with 3.68. If you are getting errors it most likely is a codec issue. I just right click on the file and select "Start video transform" in the context menu and they start converting.

It may be a silly question but do you have a program installed on your PC that plays rmvb files because I could not convert them till I installed RealAlternative player which installed the right codecs.

To store them on the player open explorer and navigate to your player which will appear as a removable drive. Creat a folder in the players root called Movies or whatever you want and then copy your converted files to folders within the Movies folder.

To play them open your movie viewer and press play. To navigate to specific folders press the menu button once, select local folder and press the menu button again, and you should see a list of all folders within your Movie folder. Scroll to the one you want and press the play button will take you back to the movie player, then press the play button again to play.

If you are still having problems maybe your player doeesn't play .amv files but .smv or .dmv files you can download converters for these in the tools download section.

Hope this helps let us know how you go

Re: How to store videos into your MP4 player?

Sorry. I meant to wrote I converted the file from .rmvb to .mpeg and from .mpeg to .amv using the MP3 player utilities 3.68 and added it into my mp4 folder. The file IS in the mp4 player but when I tried playing it in my mp4 player it is just blank but the file is in the mp4 player. And, which one do you want me to upload? the orignal (.rmvb) and the .mpeg or the .amv? this is because the .mpeg file is 200mb + and cannot be uploaded into rapidshare becuase it says there "Upload-limit: Unlimited! (Max. 100 MB per file! Split-archives allowed!)". Btw do you have MSN Messenger? I can send you the files through MSN Messenger

Re: How to store videos into your MP4 player?

Your right to big. Convert another file but just let it run for a few say 30 -60 sec and then click the convert button again and the conversion will stop but it will still generate the amv file. Then send it to me at tadeath@hotmail.com. Sorry ditched MSN messenger for skype.

Does the converted file play in the amv player on your pc?

Terry.

ketiakbusuk,

Try putting the files just in the root of your player instead. Don't put it under any folders. Then try to see if it plays.

ketiakbusuk,

Did you try what Binh suggested? Drag file to mp4 root folder. Don't put it inside a folder. Do any other files play ? MP3? text?

Try moving the amv file from this site to root folder. What happens?
If the amv file from this site does not play from the root folder, it may be a defective player. What do you think Binh?

If the above does not work, try a hard reset.... Switch player off w on/off switch, wait a few seconds, then back on. It may now display Chinese. Don't worry.
Just go to system setup, scroll down to 3rd choice, hit menu, then select 2nd choice and you will have english back.

Thanks for pictures it seems your model is GM6000 not 600. Found some info on web for it. You need to convert your video files to ASF format your player does not support AMV format. Installing the software off the CD should provide you with the converting program you need to do this.

But now the problem is when I double-click the setup file, there will be a pop-up saying "The InstallShield Engine (iKernel.exe) could not be installed. The system cannot find the path specified" Can someone help me? I don't know why I'm always having problems...

What is the file or application called, and can you email me a copy to check out.

If might either take .asf or .AVI files. It uses a different board from the mpx players we have on this site. I have an .asf converter and will upload it to the site for you. You can try it and let me know if it works or not for your player.

Certain players (like yours) uses specific video files so it's best to use the software included on the included CD. Anyhow, can you create a new topic for your inquiry please?
