Guys,
I would like to provide an insight about the 8gb player. Till now in the china market there is not even a single manufacturer who produces 8gb flash player.
there are 8gb players available but they are in hard disk version. Not in the flash version. this means they are bulky and expensive and surely not in the 9mm (your player is 9 mm thick and is slightly shorter than the nano clone)
to check any player before buying is copying the specified amount of data from computer to the mp4/mp3 player and copy it back to the computer. if this works that means you are safe, if it this does not works that means you have been cheated.
second way as correctly stated above by someone is to check the flash memory by opening the player. On samsung and hynix website the code for the memory can be found to know the ACTUAL memory capacity.
