There should be a driver for your player on the CD it came with otherwise download the AMV Conversion tool (Mp3 Player Tools 3.68) is more stable than 4.0 version.

As you are running Win98 this may interest you as well

Re: driver for windows 98

 Thanks Terry for your reply. I appreciated that very much.

The problem is I didn't get a CD with the player. My computer (win98se)
recognizes the new hardware but asks for a driver.

I'm fairly new to this mp3 stuff so I'm afraid to use a driver that isn't compatible with the system.

What is the AMV conversion tool! I seem to understand it's something to do with videos. How can that help me install th player on my computer?

I apologize if that is a stupid question but as I said I'm a newbie in this field.

Thanks!

Cheers!

It is actually a pack of four tools to use with your player along with the drivers for 98
One for converting video
One for playing converted video
One for formating your player
And a tool for upgrading your players firmware should you need to.

The driver is just a standard usb driver and shouldn't give you any problems.

Take Care Anna.

Well! thank you all for your help.

Unfortunately  I'm still here fighting with win98se. The driver wasn't accepted. Computer says it's not the appropriate one for the USB FLASH Drive (that's how win98se detects my mp3 player).

If you have anything else to share it would be most appreciated. In the meantime I'm using the mp3 on my daughter's computer. She has XP. Everything is fine there but of course I would prefer my own.

fizzle05 had a look at your site. congrats!!! a job well done.Very informative indeed. BTW did you get your win98se issue solved???

Thanks everyone again!

What does your MPx player look like? I have a few other Win98 drivers but need to see what your player looks like in case it doesn't work.

Hello admin!

Thanks a lot for your input!

My player looks exactly like these at ebay. Mine is a 512mb. It's unbranded.
Here's the link to ebay:

Thanks again!

Anna,
I have a player like yours and it uses a standard usb driver but Win98 SE had some issues with usb driver. Here is a link that covers the issues and offers some fixes for the problem.

Hope this helps

Thanks Terry!

Quite a lot there.
I'll slowly make my way through it all and I'm sure to find something useful for this stubborn win98 SE !

Cheers!
