s1fwx won't detect my player
 

I am trying to extract my firmware to mod it but when I run extract.bat it will not detect my player. The player is detected on the computer usually the letter "f".

Does it matter what name your player is. I renamed mine to "MPX Player".

I'm using Windows ME if that helps.

There could be 2 reasons for this, S1fw.exe does not work on Windows 98 or 98SE and may also not work on ME, and secondly it only works on Action boards you may have a Sigmatel board in your player.

Most likely the board you have is not compatible with the s1res.exe tool.

Download the UDisk Checker from here. It will tell you what type of disk it is.

Handy tool to tell if you have an ACTIONS board, Sigamtel or Sunplus board.
