Background color

I have a vl-545 Player, 1.2 inch screen, I've used s1res to find the out how to change the background color, I can't find it. Is there anyone who can help me? The background color is orange, I don't want orange lol.

gman34,
If you cannot find an image file (.bmp) for your background colour with s1res then the color is probably coded within the .bin file. The only way to change it would be to extract the contents of the .bin file and find the right file and edit the code with a hex editor then recompile. Which file you would need to edit and which code I have no idea.

Where is the orange background? Is it during loading after selecting a menu item? If so, then it would be really hard to edit.

I have a player that has a really ugly bright blue loading background colour after I select an item from the main menu. I couldn't change it, so instead, 'reskinned' the rest of the player to fit around that bright blue background colour instead. It turned out ok actually.

i think he means that orange "initializing..." screen that comes up after the startup logo. Well thats the only orange thing on mine and I don't like it either but I cant change it in the s1res. Weird

Re: Background color

I am talking about after i select the menu. Its orange and orange does not go good in blue lol..
After Extracting the .bin file I am having no luck, I am lost and confused because I hate hex. I only do java lol..
Well Hex is not that user friendly so I am going to leave this to those japanease who made that atj program to fix this lol.

Thanks

Yeh, looks like it's not part of what can be extracted using the s1fwx tool. Mine is a bright blue. I just reskinned it around that instead...... :) Maybe try a 'orange' type theme?

Thanks But I like the skin already so I'll just wait until a hex genius figures this out.
