Try creating a NEW USER account, give it full admin rights, then log in as that new user, then install the MTV converter. This generally solves the problem majority of the time.

Let me know if that fixes the problem.

I am not familiar with the MTV converter as my player uses AMV but you may need to download the codec pack

http://www.mympxplayer.com/dload.php...file&file_id=6

and installing it then try the converter again.

lightzout,

Sounds like wrong file type.

What file type are you trying to convert?

If it is rm, rma, rmvb, etc. you must convert it to avi, mpeg, first. Then convert again w/mtvconvert.

Try the following:

1. Uuninstalling it.

2. Go into Control Panel, there is a [Users] item there. Create a new user accont, make sure you select "admin" rights when you do so.

3. Check to make sure you have the required Windows Media Player 9.0 and above as well as DirectX 9.0 and above (all can be downloaded from our website).

4. Log in as this new user and then install the .MTV convert tool. Remember to put the tick in "allow everyone to use" when you do so.

5. Log off as the new user and log back in as yourself. Then try using the .MTV convert tool.

Let me know what happens after you've tried this.
