Hi
I just want some help because when I have my music playing I would like the screen to fade and go dark it use to do this but I added new firmware it still works fine but I don't know how to make it fade while it is playing a song or on the menu. It wastes the battery having the light on

these are the steps referred to my player (iPod Nano clone 1GB).

Go to the System Setup menu.
Choose the Power Off submenu and put the Off Time parameter to 0 and the Sleep Time parameter to 0.

Always in the System Setup menu choose the LCD Set submenu and put the Black parameter to the value (in seconds) that you prefer; this parameter specify the time delay (in seconds) that elapse from the last pushed button to the LCD off action.

Also make sure you have set your clock settings too. If you don't, the settings mentioned by max_quest might not take effect.
