This forum is seriously positively blooming ... missed out a few days and had quite some catching up to do ...
here's another issue : somebody found a way yet to make random REALLY random ...? .... if you have 20 songs in a folder , there's NO WAY you'll here them all before it starts repeating the ones you've heard only just ...
I agree on the random thing.
It actually isn't 'random'. From what I've read, there is an actual pattern in terms of what songs are being played in 'random' mode......
I've also noticed sometimes I hear one song twice while other songs, I don't hear for a long time. It's actually not going through the whole set of songs before it starts the random process again.
I don't know of a firmware tweak or 'upgrade' that will fix this.......... I havent heard of anything...
There are some very lousy negative points regarding these players which , if those Chinese-Firmware-guys had put in a LITTLE more effort , would NOT have been there ... ( such as the song listing and this random thing too .. )

I have discussed with this mp3 manufacturers, but unfort because they don't build the boards and chips themselves, they can't do much from their end. I don't have any contact with the board/chip manufacturers unfort Also due to language barrier problems, it will be hard to explain it to them as well.
