Default new to this!!!

This may seem like a very simple question, but how do I put music onto my Mp4 player? When I attatch it to my computer via the usb cable, the computer does nothing! The player shows the standby mode. I'm really stuck with this and i would appreciate any help!!

caz,

Some questions for you:

1. Has your computer ever been able to pick up your player?

2. What operating system are you using?

3. What is you plug it into another USB port instead?

4. What if you plug your mpx player into another computer altogether? Does it pick it up?

When your mpx player is plugged into the USB port of your computer, Windows XP should pick it up automatically. There's nothing special you need to do on the MPx player itself. Just make sure the [on/off] switch is set to [on] location as well.

Let me know of the result.

Binh,
My computer has never picked up the player. I'm using windows ME. I've tried a different USB port, but it doesnt work either! The player seems okay,as in it plays the two songs that were already on it and I can charge it up okay with the USB cable. Any ideas?

Caz,

This is very strange.

I am no expert on mE, but suspect you need to update the OS specifically with regard to the usb drivers.
Google: Winme+usb+driver.
Install any updates found. You can try installing win98 usb driver on the CD for a quick 'fix'.
Then download SLD codec pkg. in downloads section. Reboot. then test and post results.

caz

Might be a drivers issue with WinME.
Try it on a WinXP machine and see if it picks up your player. If it does, then it means your USB cable and player is working fine and the issue is with the drivers on WinME.
