Radio on my mp4 player

First of all i have to say thx so so much to the admin of this site
and to all the others who give all the usefull hints !
I just received my player 2GB........my player
and i am very happy with it
i was well informed of the player because i understood a bit
thx to this page
so....................
my problem is that if i put the screen on i see different options in the menue
and also a radio function is there but as soon as i scroll there it jumps
to another symbol
i heard of you that changing the FW is dangerous and everything beside this Function
is working well
Is there a way to get that radio working without f****** up the player
i m knew and don t understand some things !!
i made an backup with s1fwx and tried s1res, but i didn t change anything
There is an option radio or something in s1res
can i change that feature there or is it to risky to do so
somebody mentioned that the feature of the game will be lost
if i loose my tetris game ..........so what ?
the radio is more important for me
hopefuly somebody can help me
all the best :D
Tom

el guapo, I suggest trying the option and see if it makes a difference but be sure to keep a copy of your original firmware.

Re: Radio on my mp4 player

i used Firmware Modify and selected the Radio Function....updated...
now i have the Radiofunction on my display and i can open it
everything else is working fine
How do i get the Radiostations in ???????? 8)
probably i m to stupid
i tried around but i don t hear any station
Has anybody got an idea what to do ?

tadad1 15th Jun 2006 1:49 am

el guapo, did you lose tetris? To get radio stations on my player pressing and holding down the left or right arrow buttons sets the player to auto search for stations but it only seems to stop for strong signals. Reception on my player is pretty terrible as well.

el guapo,
Are you getting any sound at all even static?
Press the menu button while in Radio and you will see 2 frequency choices Normal Band and Japan Band try swaping frequency.

with radio ( i hope it is not the same )

el guapo,

Thankyou, it is very different than my firmware and not compatible. I thought perhaps it may be the same as mine and I could try it. Interestingly all the images are upside down in the firmware so if you are looking to try some others check the images. I have seen one other like this on the site but I will have to hunt for it as it was a link in a forum post not in the download section.

Back to your problem though, if you are getting no sound at all in radio there may be a problem with your FM Receiver chip. I can only suggest you talk to your supplier.

el guapo

To be honest, your player might actually NOT have the FM tuner chip built into it.

I know when I buy MP4 players from manufacturers, they give me the option to have "FM" or not. So if I choose FM they will add in the FM tuner. So even though you've 'enabled' it in the firmware itself, physically, I don't think you actually have an FM tuner.
