Default Setting time / Sleep function

I have MP4 player ,firmware ver 3.2.16 , it has five buttons on front ,play in middle , Mode,Rec and Skip left/right. (doesn't have vol buttons)

I have 2 problems with it:
1. Cant set the time/date. When I enter screen to set time/date , none of the buttons do anything ,it doesn't matter if i press quickly or long press - (except REC button switches from lock to unlock)

2. Maby related to 1 ,when I set my sleep time , my player screen still stays on during playing music, the screen just dims a little after say 10sec , but doesn't switch off. The off function does work for me.

Please Help !!
Thanks!!

dreamadream, when setting the clock pushing the play button should move you through the time and date settings. The left or right buttons will change the settings up or down.

Also you may find you need to set both of the settings under the Brightness setting (darkle and black)

I've just sussed out how to get sleep function to work !! Hallalulya!!

On my player ,when i set the darkle to 10 the dark goes to 10 ,same if i set darkle to 20 the dark goes to 20 ..and so on.

Now if I set the sleep to 10 when darkle is 10 - the player will sleep while music is playing. ...And... if I set the sleep to 20 while darkle is 10 the screen just dims slightly instead of sleeping.

So once the sleep is set to the same number as the darkle and dark settings - the screen will go off while listening to music. If the numbers are different the screen will just dim.

It still leaves me with the problem of not fixing the clock ,but i noticed each time i go back into clock screen the time has changed , so the clock is on..i'm not too worrying about setting it.

Hopefully this can help out someone else out there !!

dreamadream, You are setting the wrong thing. Darkness and darkle need to be set to 10 or what ever setting you want.

Sleep is a timer that sets the player to switch off after a set number of minutes, used if you want to go to sleep listening to music if you set it to 30 it will play for 30 minutes then turn the player off.

tadad1
your right , the sleep makes it sleep after 10 minutes or whatever...

its strange though , because when i set the sleep function , the screen does go off while you listen to music for 10 minutes or whatever..

And when i set the off function to 10 ..nothing seems to happen ??? the screen doesn't even dim ??

ANy ideas' ??

dreamadream, If you are refering to the Power off\Off time setting this is a power saving feature. This setting is for the player to switch off after a set time if there is no activity. So if you are playing music it will not work it only works if the player is on and doing nothing then it will switch itself off after the set time.

tadda1, you are describing how it should work ... but i have the same problem that hime.

I have two different mp4/ipodclone player, and one of them works exactly as you say, but the other not they have the same config options sleep/poweroff etc but in the second one the screen dimmer is not working.

I dont know if it is the reason, but every time i setup the clock, it remains until i switch off the on/off button

In my other player i dont need to switch off the on/off button because i put it off holding the Play button for a few seconds.

But in the second one if i hold the play button, the player goes throught the bye-bye screen, it shuts down, but the screen stays black-but-with-backlight turned on

Maybe to research about the clock problem is our only solution

Aiken, If your backlight is staying on it sounds more like a fault with the player rather than a settings issue.

I'll take a look to the board-id, i want to be sure it's not a design problem. Thanks anyway
