suley, Couple of things I notice, The left side of the Update tool is blank and showing no firmware is on your player at all which is right for a reset. However you need to be uploading a full version firmware if you are uploading dump files they are only partial firmware and will generate an error message. You need to find a full version firmware and install it first, it probably wont fix your player 100% but it will put it in a state where a firmware dump will restore your player.

This is the only full firmware that I have, it has worked for me DOWNLOAD

If you have not read it already I suggest you read the DEAD PLAYER RECOVERY GUIDE I posted as there are a few steps you may need to take if you get error messages.

I suggest you try the Full version firmware I have linked for you and then your brothers backup.

PS By the way I watched your flash and I noticed you have the stressreducer machine gun thing, it was detected as a Trojan Virus by my antivirus so you may want to ditch it.

Hi, thought i would update you been busy latley. Basically i did what you said and it kind of worked. I did not use my brothers firmware as he has a diffrent model now as he sold his old one and i accidentally deleated the old firmware of his on the pc also

so used the one it only accepted and it worked but some buttosn did not work right. After a day i tried to switch on and screen comesup blank when connected to a pc it comes up as a usb drive and am able to upgrade the firmware did try going down and then back up but screen still will not comeon. No music also plays or anything so at the min its working as a pendrive. Any ideas how to sort?

So you've tried updating your player with the FULL FIRMWARE files mentioned by tadad already?

Once you have, and when you say the buttons are wrong, then that would be the right time to update the firmware again, but this time, with YOUR original backup firmware file you took from your player.....

I never had an orginal backup. It lost the orgianl firmware. I accidentally erased the copy of my bros i had on the pc and now hes sold his on. What do you recomend.
