lightzout, you need a 2.5 to 3.5 adapter, or stereo headphones for a mobile phone. I recall someone writing in a previous post that they got some from Walmart. Also someone bought some on eBay for a Sagen brand phone, I think around $8.00 USD + $2 shipping.

lightzout, If the earphones were plugged in when you damaged it the socket could also be damaged or the plug could be bent.

lightzout

Try your earphones on ANOTHER player if you can. That will determine whether it's a set of faulty earphones or the earphone connection on the player....

So, lightzout, I don't think there are headphones smaller than 2.5mm diameter jack plugs. They should be banned since they are crap anyway. And an adaptor is way too bulky for such small items to be cool...

Have you tried taping your ears together? No...er...sorry..just kidding. Listen my friend, try your phones on another player.

But to me, the fact that it does not CLICK in place means that you have probably bent one of the pins in the socket. Unless you are really proficient with a soldering iron, I would take it to a decent technician.

He'll take all of 5 minutes to replace or bend the metal tab back in place!
