Default [Solved] Audio Got Screwed up

Hi, I have been very happy and satisfied with my player until yesterday.I got one wall charger yesterday and I charged my player for about 5 min.My battery was already full so i removed the charger after 5 mins satisfied that the charger is working well. But when i started to listen music i found that it is screwed up. The voice is suppresed and only the high frequency sounds were there somewhat like karoke. Then I played some movie clips there was no sound coming.
Later I checked the battery of my player it says 3.8 V but my wall charger gives a output of 6v DC.I think the charger has damaged my player's hardware. Is there any solution....?
I am really worried as it is not even 2 months. Can any one help me?

prasanna,

It sounds like your wall chargers might have damaged your player . However, rather than jump to conclusions, try:

1. Try another set of earphones instead? Maybe coincidence, earphones crapped out?

2. Try the radio function and see if you can hear the radio ok?

3. Try also the recording feature too to see if you can record your voice and hear it back.

4. Try formatting your player as well if all the above doesn't work. Then copy the files across to see if that helps.

Does your player still function normally other than the sound being screwed?

Admin, My player is working normally.
I tried 3 sets of headphones the result is same.
When we hear to the songs audio is coming, it is sounding more like "karoke" where the main voice is suppressed and the music is coming...
When i watch any video there is no sound at all.
I will check the radio and record functions.
Does the Mp4 players have karoke function?

My firmware details
2005/12/16
3.5.35
2006/03/22
JTYMD038V4

will changing the firmware help?

Changing firmware won't make much of a difference as it seems the higher voltage might have cause some 'permanent' damage to it. But I don't want to conclude that just yet.......

Actually, you'll probably end up with a 'dead player' if you update the firmware with an incompatible firmware, so it's probably not the best thing to do right now.

Is your player still in warranty? Do you still have the contact details of the seller still??

prasanna, It may not help but it is worth a try. I have found that some sound and playback problems can be overcome by simply extracting the firmware repairing it and then reloading it to your player.

tadad1, what i did was i extracted the firmware and loaded the original firmware which i had a backup. But it is still the same.I even tried upgrading with another firmware but my display blacked out free my player will be dead i uploaded the original firmware now it is working but the problem is still there.I think it is a hardware problem.
One more is there any hard reset switch available in these players?
U said repairing the firmware ? how can it be done ?
How can i extract the full firm ware not the .bin file i know it is not full firmware?

prasanna,
To the best of my knowledge there is no way to extract a full firmware.
To repair your firmware after extracting run the repair.bat that is in the s1fwx folder.
The only hard reset I know of is shorting the memory chip as in dead player recovery this seems to wipe the firmware completely which is why you need a full version to recover.

Hi admin & tadad1, finally i got my player replaced.I went to the dealer and showed him my problem he did some checking and replaced it with a new player. The new player was working fine there but when i came back home the touch pad (my player has a touch pad keys) didnt work at all.So again i went to the dealer and got it replaced. Now it is working fine. The dealer asked me not to open the player and if any problem comes come over there. He told my player is under 1 year warranty.
So thanks for u guys giving me suggesitions.
