What program did you format your player with? Was it with the "MP3 Player Disk Tool" from the "MP3 Player Utilities"??

If you used the "MP3 Player Disk Tool", there is a tab there for "Partition and Encrypt" which might have cause it. Try pulling the slider bar to the left until it saids "setting encrypted disk capacity 0 MB".

I have already mentioned to you that there is a possiblity that your player might have been 'hacked' to show more memory than what is physically installed on your player. But you said you could load over 400MB files on your player? When you did, did it all play correctly with any errors?

c_anup1990. I have yet to hear of anyone recovering lost memory. Can you open your player post the details of your memory chip ( brand and serial number).

Other than the lost of memory, everyone else works fine with your player?

You can also try going into "Drive Management" from Windows and format your player from there.

But if it's still the same 232mb then most likely it was a hacked player and you've 'wiped' out the hack by formatting it, showing the true size of the memory chip instead.

Also take tadad's suggestion and open up your player and post the chip information.
