2gb mp4 player is it broken???
Hi,
I bought a 2gb nano look alike from ebay 1.5 inch screen. I quickly turned it on and had a play for 10 mins then decided to charge it for a while using the wall charger. Came back to take a look at it couple hours later. It was extremely hot to touch on the back section and now No power on! Nothing wont power on at all or connect to computer or anything, but does still get warm when charging. Please anyone have any ideas, possible suggestion for fix. The guy a bought it from is just ignoring me! Please any info / advice would be much appreciated. |

Press the [on/off] switch to OFF position. Leave it off for a few mins, then charge your player using the USB cable into your computer instead. Then turn it on and see what happens. There's been afew instances where the wall charger has been faulty. Just hope it hasn't damaged the board on your player that's all. It's alarming if the player is really hot to touch that's for sure! |
Jamo9000, Sorry to say but I think "theskems" may be right. I have charged my player using the wall charger for 4 to 6 hours at a time and it has never become hot.

Thanks for the reply. I didnt think about the charger!
I think your right afterall when i say hot i mean bloody hot, too hot to touch. I took a look at the charger and noticed that now when its plugged in the lights on the front dont show and they did initially. So looks like it was a faulty wall charger! I am so pissed off! Just my bloody luck, what a waste. I wonder if its worth dropping it into an electrical store and see if its worth repair or maybe trying to claim through paypal as the seller has not replied at all. Thanks again |
jamo9000, I think your best bet would be seeing if paypal can offer you any advice. I doubt if there is much chance of repair, if it got that hot most of the inards would be fried.

Sorry to hear about your player. Does your player still work at all? What about trying to charge it using the USB cable into your computer? If it's just the wall charger, maybe it's not so bad after all. But if your player doesn't turn on at all then that's no good and I would suggest try to get a refund if the seller doesn't respond, warn them you will put negative feedback.....? Good luck. |
No not at all! It wont do anything with the usb cable either.
Windows no longer even recognises anything is there when i attach it Looks like its smoked! I look into the paypal route problem is they charge now 25 dollar for a claim and with most the cost being postage I dont think ill get anything! |
