Default Headphone Jack problem

I have a nano clone with a 1.8 in screen and I think the headphone jack is either loose or broken. I've contacted the seller and they want to send me new headphones to test if it is the headphones. But if iI slightly touch the headphones while they're plugged in the sound either disappeears completely or somewhat.

What can I do?

What happens if you try a DIFFERENT set of headphones altogether? Do you get the same problem?

You would probably need to check this to see whether the problem is with the headphone itself or the connector on the end of your player.

If you've only recently had your player and if it's still under warranty, I would suggest take up the offer and get it replaced - whether headphones or player. Headphones would be very inexpensive if it's not in warranty, whereas the player would probably be expensive.

Let me know.

Yes I've tried other headphones with it that's what made me notice the problem then I tried the original headphones and it was the same problem.

I can see the headphone jack on the player moving when I slightly touch the headphones that are plugged into it. Like I said it's either broken or just loose in there I don't want to take it apart as this may void my warranty.

I've been trying to contact the seller I bought it from and have had only one response to send me new headphones to test it I've sent 2 emails to confirm it's the headphone jack still no response. It's only been a month it should still be under warranty but I can't get ahold of anyone to help me.

Anyone had any problems like this, should I leave negative feedback for this seller?

I had a nano fake and when I opened it I saw itīs pretty much easy to deal with the mainboard.....but you have to be careful....
As I donīt have patience, I would have already opened and fixed it...

If you want to do this, just post the pictures and I can help you solder it and join the separate parts,......but I need to see picture of various angles...

Please let me know what will you decide...

I currently don't have a digital camera only the camera on my phone which is not so good. Would clear tape work if I were to take it apart and tape the headphone jack down, I don't want to open it but if I don't get an answer back from this seller I may have to.

Looks like a faulty unit in that case if you've tried another set of headphones already and it's the same problem.

The safest way is to get it replaced since it's only a month. If you can get it replaced try do. If they don't respond, suggest to the seller that you have no option but to place feedback based on the player, which is faulty. I guess try to put it a nice way so you don't get negative feedback back or get abuse from the seller.

Is the seller local to you?

PlatinumNANO, If it is a loose jack connection it should be easily and inexpensively fixed. I suggest you take it to an electronics repair outlet or mobile phone repair center and see if they can help you out.

I'm in the US what would a place like that be here?

I finally received a letter back confirming that they will send me a new one once I send it back to them but I'm not sure how to do that either seeing as I've never dealt with customs.

I would like to get it fixed cheaply rather than sending it all the way back and then waiting for another one.

any ideas or suggestions?

what to look for, for electronics repair store?
