photoshop version

i just downloaded a adobe photoshop 3.0 starter pack but i still cant open the PSD file because the said file type is not supported by this adobe version, can u help me identify what version of the adobe photoshop do i need to download so that i can open PSD files? tnx. :)

NoInOi, I think Adobe Photoshop Starter Pack is a series of addons for Photoshop and not the actual program. You need to install Adobe Photoshop CS but it is not freeware you will have to download a trial version HERE

If you want a freeware program to open psd files try The Gimp from HERE
You need to download The Gimp for Windows and the GTK+ 2 Runtime Environment.

Re: photoshop version

i vistited the gimp site but the site is asking me to choose what type of download mirror im going to use, i dunno wat a "download mirror" is  . nid help regarding this terminology. tnx! :)

NoInOi, This means that the web site does not store the files on their site but you can download it from other sites (called mirror sites) you just need to select which site you want to download from and follow the links.

I have also uploded The Gimp and Gtk+ Runtime files needed to install and run the program to the dowwnload section. You will be able to download them once Admin has authorised them.

NoInOi

What file is it that you are trying to extract? Did you download it from this site? Let me know and I'll check it out, it could well be corrupt....
