Default Firmware upgrade

Hi, I have a 1.8, 2GB clone under the setup screen it displays firmware WS-3.2.13 2005/11/10 I'd like to upgrade the firmware to the latest version, can someone please advice me on the steps I need to take because I'm not sure which firmware to choose under download, firmware section.

Also what are the benefits in upgrading the firmware, will it allow me to play video in widescreen?

Thanks :?

max2, It would be impossible to recommend an upgrade firmware that would be 100% compatible with your player. Upgrading the same version of firmware is very risky. Upgrading to a different version would most likely be fatal. Why can you not play full screen 1.8 video know?

tadad1 I can play in normal mode 4.3 , but when I encode the video to widescreen using version AMV 4 it freezes, and with 3.68 and 3.57, after changing the settings and editing the files as recomended on this site I still can't play video in widescreen it playes normal 4.3 flipped

Have you tried using VirtualDub (downloadable from here) to convert your original video to the desired wide screen size firstly before using the AMV Convert Tool? It might actually work out better if you use VirtualDub to convert to the screen size you want it BEFORE using AMV Convert Tool for better video quality.

If you have a 1.8" screen player, than 160 x 120 should give you full screen.

Admin I 've downloaded Virtualdub, it's fantastic i'm still getting use to it. Just a couple of question after encoding in Virtualdub, what screen settings are you using when converting in AMV 3.68 or 4?
