Default [Solved]Unable to play more than 20 files???

Hi all,

its very nice to know that i'm not the only one with one of these nano like player. i have a sc85051c with firmware act_v3.5.35. its 256Mb. I'm unable to play more than 20 songs in the root folder. after the 20th song it restarts automatically. i tried creating folders but it didnt work. it would still play only 20 songs in total. now in addition to this when i deleted some folders it has created a lot of junk 0kb files that i'm unable to delete. now to add to my worries i'm unable to go beyond my 7th song in the player. what do i do? would a format help? if so how do i do it? the driver cd i got is screwed up so no info there...also when i play certain amv files it says "format error!" while i'm able to play some other files of the same size(in Mbs). i'm happy with the battery and the memory of the player just help me fix these issues.

regards,
fizsle

fizsle, Try formatting your player. Connect it to your PC then open explorer and right click on your player and select Format from the menu. Be sure to select the FAT format.

fizsle, Well your symptoms are a good indication of a hacked chip, if that is the case I would say your 256mb memory is really only 128MB, though why anyone would hack a chip of this size has got me stumped. The only way you will know for sure is to open the player and find the memory chips brand and serial number and doing a Google search with the info will find you the specifications of the chip.

I bought it at rediff auctions http://auctions.rediff.com - an indian auction site.... i paid around 35$ for it. Ironically going through the site i found an offer for a 2GB player at the same price! well i've sent a mail to customer service threatening to charge with fraud. i hope to get some compensation! thanks for being there all...
