hey guys just wanna know if formatting in windows 98se is safe. coz its so tempting having just 256mb and it says i can have around 500+mb if i do format it. thanks

Where did you hear this?
Formatting your player will not increase it's storage capacity. If you are refering to using drive compression there is a good chance your player will not function with a compressed drive. If you are not having any problems with it leave it be.

You might be talking about compression as formatting a player normally doesn't increase it's available space.
