If your screen is 1.5 you should be using 128x96 or 128x128.
160x120 is for 1.8 screens so your player is working harder than it needs to.
If you edit the AmvTransform.ini found in the folder of AMV Conversion Tool 4.0 and change CHIPTYPE=0 you will be able to use more settings.
You can also improve the quality of your video by pre-processing with VirtualDub or PocketDivxEncoder.

If you are still having problems Google for the K-Lite Mega Codec Pack and install it as you could be having a codec problem.
