Default A small file naming problem.

Hi.
Wel,l last week I got myself a new 512 mb. (real 512 mb. not the "fake" ones) mpX player, and I have to say it runs very nice. I like the fact that is VERY user friendly. Sure, the 512 mb. are a little bit limiting, but i'd prefer this player before some other less "colorfull" one anytime even they have a little more memory. I mean who could resist the cute interface ?

But here is my question:
I've noticed that some of my mp3s are not properly named in the player.
I'm talking about the fact that the artist name is not shown where it should be. Instead I'm only getting the name of the song itself, and not the details ( you know, the ones that you write in the summary of the song ) like artist, album, year etc.
It is a problem hardly worth mentioning but it is really annoying.
Could someone suggest something ??

P.S. The details ARE written corectly when i check on my PC.

Metatron, Not all players display the tag information, and some will display unknown symbols instead of the proper text. Try opening one of your files in an mp3 tag editing program and changing it, save and see if it makes any difference.

Metatron

It should show the name of the artist and the song title. Unfort it won't show the other ID3 tags on your MP3 player.

Check the VERSION of the ID3 tag on your MP3 songs as well. Some players can play the new version while others can't and you have to delete the new ID3 tag version information.

Hope that helps.

I've tryed everything and it doesn't make any difference. I'm still having the same problem.
btw, my player is capable of showing the song name, artist and album. I know this becouse every other song in my player in named properly, only
three songs are making this problem.
Maybe I should menton that the songs that have this problem are .wmv and not .mp3

Metatron, Might be easier to convert them to MP3 maybe the players can't read the info on wmv.

Ok, alittle confused now.

In your original post, you say "some of my mp3s are not properly named" so I thought it was MP3's.

However, in another post, you said "this problem are .wmv and not .mp3".

MP3 uses ID3 tags, while .wmv are video files and don't use ID3 tags, so they are totally different in displaying the file names.

Can you give us an idea of what the files are named as?
