Default Problems with Ebooks

Before nothing please excuse my English. I have a nano clone 2 gb and I have problems with ebooks. I can load it , but when I try to read them, each 4 pages, (that is every 4 times that i press the key next, the final part of which it would be a page in the screen does not appear. There are missing words, then I press next again, and the following page appears correctly, but when I arrive at page 8 I have the same problem, always the same problem each 4 pages, its anybody has an idea of which it could be? The version of firmaware is 3.5.37-001. Thanks to all of you for your time. Bests regards.

Hi Odulio, I just saw your question after I posted mine. I have the same problem as yours and I have the same firmware version. No reply yet to our problem.

<<original post>>
Hi, need help. My mp4 looks like the one on this site with the model MP751. It is a clone. When I upload .txt file, there are missing words. I used your admin sample text but it still showed missing words. I also tried the suggestion here using courier new and the directions on the word file, making it a small column, the saving as plain text, etc. But still, it has not solved the problem. the firmware version on the mp4 is ws-3.2.13 but when I access the upgrade, it showed the version as 3.5.37 S1 wilson...

Thank you. Please help. Thanks for this site.

Odulio and jade7,

I have to be honest with you, I've never fully tested the text book function on these players so don't know much about it.

What I can suggest is the following:

1. Can you take a photo of your player for us?

2. Is your player a 1.5 or 1.8" screen?

3. Extract your firmware using the s1fwx tool. jade7, this will accurately tell you what version of the firmware your player has (as yours is conflicting).

It's because the eBook function is a joke and is just there for namesake. I've loaded a eBook and have had the same issue and my firmware at the time of testing was the same as you guys.

I have not tried the eBook function on any of the newer firmwares.

I wouldn't hope for too much out of the ebook feature, just like the phone book feature.

I do hope the newer firmwares have improved these two features, but even if they have, i don't think i could read off such a small screen, it would hurt my eyes way to much.

Hi razzer001,

Thanks for sharing. I have a smaller player 1.5" clone, too. I don't even know what type it is and the ebook is fine. That's why I bouth this 1.8" to read couldn't resist reading Anyway, the fonts are good sized and it's dark except for those problems. I suspect that the firmware should be the verticle one, not the horizontal. This might solve the problem

Hi Admin,

Just thinking right now, I suspect that the firmware for my player should be the verticle one. this one is the horizontal. This might solve the problem. I've checked the downloads but as yet, couldn't find a vertical firmware for 1.8". But I'd still wait for your advice. Thanks

Hi Odulio,

vertical 3.5.37 firmwares do not correct the ebook. I tried other 3.5.37 firmwares. one worked for the ebook but since my players has different buttons (square with volume at the bottom) than the ipod (round with arrows), I won't be able to adjust the volume of the music. So, the answer really is to find the right firmware version for our particular model. Mine is a clone so I don't know yet what the solution will be. I will try to find a way of formatting the .txt file in which no words will be missing.
