[solved] Ipod clone memory problem.

Hello,
I have an ipod clone. I bought it as a 1Gb mp4 player, but when I used it I realized it only allows me to copy up to 233MB giving an error: "Invalid parameter". From windows explorer the properties showed a 1Gb memory, but the real available memory was 233Mb.
I tried formatting the memory and now the properties show 233MB.

I opened the player and looked up for the memory chip code, its: HY27UF082G2M and according to the vendor its density is 2GB.

Anyone can help with this?

Thank you very much.

Hi Martin, Well it seems you have a hacked player on your hands. I dont know if youve read around the forum but a lot of people have had the same problem as yourself. Sometimes eBay members request manufacturers to hack the players to show it as having a higher capacity than it actually does - they do this mainly to make a quick buck, but I believe that if you bought it from eBay you should contact thme and ask for an explanation.

The chip you provided HY27UF082G2M is a 256 MB chip as someone else has the same chip and theirs is a 256MB Player. (Reference Link: http://mympxplayer.com/viewtopic.php...t=hy27uf082g2m )

The only thing I can suggest is to contact the ebay member and ask for a refund or to file a claim against the member with ebay (if you purchased from ebay).

Just be careful next time who you buy from. Hope that helps! Keep us posted about your progress with the buyer.

Martin, also if you did post from eBay could you tell us the name of the ebayer?

Admin, Just a suggestion, but do you think we can have a list on the site of ebay members who are selling fakes so that if people happen to discover the site before they buy a mp4 player, they can watch out for certain buyers and therefore have a better chance of getting real players? Let me know, its just a thought.

Hello and thanks for the quick response.
The player was a gift from my girlfriend who travel to Macao China a few weeks a go, so, no chance for a refound :).

Thanks to all.

Sorry to hear this "bsaylor" is correct your chip HY27UF082G2M is 2gigabits = 256MB not 2gigabytes = 2048MB or 2GB.
