Default "Format Error" while playing AMV Movies

[align=justify:f3851ec027]Hi All!

I would like to share this piece of information for the benefit of our forum members.

After converting home movies from dat, mepg and vob format using AMV/XMPEG Converters, while playing the converted movies, I had been getting the “Format Error” frequently. To ascertain the cause of this problem, I got the movie converted using different systems viz. on desktop P4 PC & Centrino Laptop. In both the cases, the same symptoms continued. However, to find the root cause, I had played the converted movie in 2 other Nano clones 2GB and the movie played well in those players without any error or interruption.

Considering my experience, I attribute the cause of “Format Error” to some extend to hardware problem in my Nano Clone 2GB.

Regards

What quality rate did you convert your .AMV at?
What frame size did you use as well?

I have a feeling that the player that's producing the "format error" doesn't have the capacity to play the converted .AMV file at the quality and frame size.

Try using "medium" as your quality and changing the size of the video to a lower size to see if plays probably.

Let me know of the result.

Dear Binh

I have been using the same converted AMV files for testing on all 3 Nano Clones with same firmware, quality & capacity. Since the problem is only in one of the units whereas in 2 others it is playing nicely.

So all of them are exactly the same?
I would just check anyway.
What you can also try is downloading some sample .AMV videos from our [Download] --> [Sample Videos] section.

Try those and see if it can play on that one unit that's having the problem.

For the Amv Videos is there anyway to make the quaility better. Some of my Music plays at 126K and the videos playing only at 88k.

Dear Binh

Finally I got a replacement from the Distributor as he realized some apparent hardware problem in my Nano as the performance was contrary to other 2 nanos.

Any way, thanks Binh for all your guidance and help.
