about format

Hello members,
I have an MP4 Player(512MB).It has some problems that some songs not copied and not shown on player.And also Some files names with ~USB created.No folder can delete from player.Hard disk completed.I cannot upload new songs.So I want to format.But it did not work.Is there any way?Please help me.
