ipod firmware

Hi today i just recieved a mp4 player from my best friend he told me that he bought 2 so he gave me 1 n by looking up on goggle i found that nice website . I dont really like the firmware that the mp4 came with cuz its hard to use and i would like to know that if i can change the firmware to a better 1 like the ipod

You need to first extract your firmware from your player using s1fwx.
Download HERE
Guide HERE

Then you can change the images using s1res
Download HERE

Then reload your firmware to your player using MP3 Player Utilities Update Tool
Download HERE

A lot depends on what image layout your firmware uses to create menus etc. You may have to do some editing to suit your player.

I have a theme that may suit you. I have not yet contributed it as a download as I still have a couple of things to test (I haven't yet tried populating the address book or using the reader). As I said, it may or may not suit you, depending on your player, but upload your firmware and I'll be happy to give it a shot! I've had stacks of fun fixing mine and now far prefer it to the Ipod.
For what its worth, mine is called eyePod.

ight i uploaded my fimeware on the download section in users fimeware let me know when ur done with it ok thnx

... well I can see it on the Home page under New Downloads, but when I click it it tells me "file does not exist". Do we need to wait for the Mod's to vet it before I can download it?
