Default (Solved) Problem extracting firmware

I am trying to extract the firmware from my MP4 player, but every time I double click on the "extract.bat" file, it comes up with S1fwx is not recognised as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. Press any key to continue.

Can anyone please advise as to how I get around this problem.

Thanks.

jez, Is s1fwx.exe in the same folder as extract.bat?
What version of Windows are you running?

Hi Tadad,

Yes, s1fwx.exe is listed in the same folder as extract.bat (I downloaded it from this site) and I am running Windows XP.

Thanks for trying to help!

jez, You could try to do it manually from the Command window.
Connect your player to your PC.
Copy the s1fwx folder to C:\ Drive make sure the folder is named s1fwx and is only one deep.
Go to Start Menu>All Programs>Accessories> Command Prompt.
Then type cd C:\s1fwx
This should take you to the s1fwx folder.
Then type s1fwx f dump.bin
and follow the prompts.
This should extract your firmware.
Then type s1fwx r dump.bin
This will repair your dump file and create your backup called dump.bin.
