[SOLVED-I guess?]Everythings Great....EXCEPT!!!

[color=#]Got my player a couple days ago...Works fine, I understand all the functions and they all work (I actually read the manual :lol: and understand it!), FW is fine by me (don't want to chance killing it), charges-no problem,...BUT!!! When I plug into the USB it flashes via the 'transfer' screen for a milli-second and goes straight to the menu and WinXP doesn't have the chance to see it. I have tried on numerous ports and 2 different computers with the same results. As far as I can tell by the countless hours of reading previous posts it is more than likely the USB cable. Which I don't understand cause it charges fine with the ac plug. I have contacted the seller...no answer as of yet. Sooooo, guess I'm stuck listening to the radio, 1 mp3, 1 video, and playing 3 games until I get the other 2 I ordered and try another cable. :roll:

Anyone have any other suggestions???[/color]

Apparently by the number of views vs. replies/comments I'm doing the right thing by waiting till I get my other players. Just wish they would get here!!! Apparently took the slowest boat from China they could find...

It sounds pretty much the USB CABLE itself as you've done the troubleshooting by changing different USB ports and different computers already.

Either that, or the USB connection on your player is alittle faulty. Not enough to not stop it charging but just enough so 'drop off' when you try to plug it into your computer.

Also, what Operating System did you try plugging your MPx into? Both are WinXP?

My pc is XP, and my husbands laptop is 2000. Am still waiting to receive the other 2 players...they apparently took the slowest boat from China :roll: Hopefully they will get here tomorrow, as I won them on Ebay on Aug 25th.

Geez, that's almost a month!
Is someone rowing the boat? Phew, that's awhile and you are very patient.

Let us know once you get it with another USB cable.

Actual fact, majority of MPx players use the same USB connection as a digital camera. So worth checking if you have a digi camera to see if that USB cable fits on your player.

Well...FINALLY got the other 2 (2G). They work fine, no problems so far. The 1G still doesn't work :x trying 3 different USB cables, and my Minolta Dimage cable doesn't fit. Oh well...will just try to get a replacement or refund... :lol: It is ironic that the ones that work are from 'mympxplayer' on Ebay.

Not to mention...the original cable from the 1G works fine with the 2G players. BTW...the original 1G was purchased from 'tinydealdirect' on Ebay. They have crappy communication and NO help whatsoever...and a trojan was detected on the disc that came with the player....
