thomman85, Have you tried to format the player? Run the MP3 Player Disk Tool and select the Partition Encypt tab and make sure the slider is all the way left to zero.
If this does not help you may have a 512MB chip that was hacked to appear as a 1GB chip and the hack has failed. The only way to find out is to open the player and note the memory chip make and serial number and doing a google search with the info will find you the chips true specifications.
