accidentally pressed format
my sister accidentally pressed format on her mp4 player. and now everything is erased, even the icons. can anyone help me by telling me how to put back the icons and stuff? >.<
thanks |
jyl,
Can you give some information on the player. Do you have a backup of the firmware? What happens at the moment when you turn the player on? Does windows still recognise the player when you connect It? |
the pc doesn't recognize the player anymore... when i turn it on, it opens with the menu, but the icons are gone...

Re: accidentally pressed format
the icons are gone because the firmware is erased if your player is the same 1 as hers u can make a copy of your firmware and download it into your sisters player only if it is the same player with the s1fwx_v26 tool in the tools section here

Re: accidentally pressed format
jyl, If the player is no longer being recognised by Windows you may need to use the Dead Player Recovery Guide HERE to restore it.
|
umm.. the thing is, we can still put files inside the mp4 player, but the display icons are gone... XD
and when we took it to the repair shop (cause it has a warranty) the owner said it wasn't broken >.< |
jyl, Can you give some details on your player and perhaps a link to where you bought it. It sounds as if it might be a SunPlus chipset player not Action in which case do not follow the Dead Player Recovery Guide on this player. What video format did it play?
Also download EasyChip HERE and run it with your player connected and it will identify your chipset. |
Re: accidentally pressed format
Here are the details of the player, and yes, this is still a problem until now (since the display are all ???, I'll just write them in the order of their apearance from the easychip)
SPCA7550 Sunplus Sunplus SPCA7550 LinkWin Co Ltd Sunplus MultiMedia disk 01.00.00 100mA 1033 1.16 8byte |
jyl, Sorry, I can find little information on Sunplus pmp's and their firmware and have no solutions for you. I would suggest that you need to reload the firmware but how you do this or where to get the firmware from I have no ideas. I have read posts on other forums that state the firmware must be reloaded at factory level and can not be done by the user so there may not be an easy solution to your problem.
