Default Memory Lost from 512 to 256


i have 512 MB MP4 VIDEO PLAYER WITH A 1.5 INCHES BIG LCD SCREEN AND INBUILT DUAL STEREOPHONIC SPEAKER.

I formatted using windows , then by mp3 utilites but the player capacity showing is 256 mb.
Before this i loaded the player with full memory with 512 mb . now it shows only 256 mb.
pls help me to back the memory to 512 mb.

Guess your memory chip is hacked too. Formatting by windows usually don't reveal the true size, HP Format or Disk Tool would be a better formatting tool to tell you of the actual memory size you have.

Most probably your memory was originally 256MB reprogrammed to show 512MB.

sheetal, It does sound as if you have a 256MB chip that has been hacked to appear as 512MB. Try opening the player and do a Google search with the memory chips serial number and make to find the chips true specs. Sorry to say I have not heard of anyone recovering lost memory.
