corrupted files

Hi hello,
I've been reading a lot of posts and I've checked what chip I really had. I bought a 2GB nano-like MP4, the chip is hynix HY27UF081G2M.
From this site : http://www.chipcatalog.com/Hynix/HY27UF081G2M.htm
it appears that it is actually a 1 GB chip...

But... after Quick format and normal format with Windows, I still have 2G supposely available... (from windows and from the player interface btw)
And... I can't copy more than about 128Mb, above that, files are corrupted.

mp4fun had the same problem in july (http://www.mympxplayer.org/viewtopic...corrupted+file)

I'm writing this post cose it seems my chip is correct, at least 1Gbytes and I still haven't the use of it all.

Any help on this ?

thanks.
Nicolaos.

Re: corrupted files

nicolaos, Try to format your player with the HP format tool HERE or the MP3 Player Disk Tool which is part of the MP3 Player Utilities suite.
Failing that the chip may be faulty.

nicolaos,
Full Speed USB 2.0 is actually not much better than USB 1.0 It just sells better, the real deal is High Speed USB 2.0 which is much faster but the ATJ2085 chipset doesn't support it. Strange goings on with your player though. :(

Re: corrupted files

That looks rediculous. It seems like the flash memory has been corrupted somehow, and its only getting worse as you plug it in each time.

With my situation I was sold something advertized to be what the real product was not. I sent it back only to find that the website I got it from was suddenly suspended and the adress I sent back to did not exsist. I got it back in the mail, and I have yet to pick it up at the post office.

From the looks of things the player is hacked to display more memory than it actually has. I thought I'd have a 8gb HD player, but what I got was 1 GB FM, and if I went over the limit the files were corrupt.

Before I got that one I already had (and still have) a SONY network walkman. Its a very durable little piece of equipment. I think I will use the sony for songs and the other one for my homework and whatnot, if I can bring myself to trust it at all.
