Loss Of Memory

Can someone please help me,
I had 999MB of free space on my mp4 player, but I put on a new firmwire thing, and now, I only have 17MB of space on it.

Please help me.

Re: EMERGENCY!!! Loss Of Memory

okay, i found out that my mp4 player is split into two drives.
One has 979MB and the other has 17MB.
But the player can only read from the 17MB one.
Maybe they are into two different partions???
If so, how do I join them back up???

Please HELP me!!!

benwyckelsma,
Open Mp3 Player Disk Tool which is paert of Mp3 Player Utilities and go to the "Partition Encrypt" tab and make sure that the slider is all the way left to zero then apply and format your player.
When finished enter your players settings and make sure that "Online Mode" is set to "Normal Only"

Re: Loss Of Memory

abderrahman5555,
The bad news is your chip is a Hynix HY27UFO81G2M which is not 2 GigaByte (2048MB) but 1 GigaBit (128MB). You will find the Hynix specification sheet for your chip HERE.
Sadly your players chip has been hacked so that it reads as a 2GB chip. You possibly formatted it in the first place because you were having problems with player restarts, corrupt files, or files that would not play. These are the standard symptoms of a hacked player.
When you formatted the player you removed the software hack and and the true size of your chip was revealed. There is nothing you can do to fix this as your player never had 2GB capacity. You should contact your seller and ask him how a 2GB player only has a 128MB chip and demand a full refund.

Hi tadad1
I haven't understend why the same chip Hynix HY27UFO81G2M whose 1 GigaByte for someone (the same chip !) and my only 1 GigaBit (128MB).
Sorry for my english and I can't read specification sheet for my chip , perhaps needed a good format or something other??

abderrahman5555, according to the Hynix datasheet, the Hynix chip HY27UFO81G2M is 1 Giga-bit (128MB). So technically your memory chip is only 128 MegaBytes.

After you formatted, you saw 109MB as the firmware needed some memory space for the player's software. So your chip had been hacked to show 1 GigaByte.

You used the Disk Tool in the MP3 Utilities to format your player, and it removed the "memory hack" to reveal the true size of your memory chip.

abderrahman5555, if you just received or purchased the player recently, complain to the seller for a refund. As you paid for 2GB, but ended up with 128MB.

abderrahman5555 19th Sep 2006 8:24 am

Hi.
this is exactly a number of serie of my chip:
Hynix KOR
HY27UFO81G2M
TPCB 629A

May be they changed something ?? I hope !!

Re: Loss Of Memory

abderrahman5555 , if you are talking about the memory size, it is 1GigaBit (128MB). The rest of the numbers are just the chip serial numbers.

antoonioo, It sounds as if you have been sold a hacked player. What is the serial number and brand name of your memory chip?

antoonioo, so it is currently working again? If so, format with the Disk Tool that came with the MP3 Utilities, and under the Partition & Encrypt tab, set the slider to minimum (left) side. And format your player again.

But it seems like your player is probably a hacked 128MB player. After you revived your player, and everything is re-installed back, most probably the software hack was removed on the memory chip during the process.

To find out, you will need to open your player and check the memory chip's numbers. The memory chip would be the biggest chip on the board.

Antoonioo, bad news, but Samsung K9K1G08U0M is a 1GigaBit (128MegaByte) chip, while Hynix HY27uf081G2M is also a 1GigaBit (128MB) memory chip.

Most likely it was a memory hack on your memory chip.

antoonioo 21st Sep 2006 2:10 am

it means that a have two players 1gb not 8gb? but befor update in my computer in windows i saw it was 8gb...and it's means that now is no possible to repair this? :(

lattesurf 21st Sep 2006 2:18 am

Re: Loss Of Memory

antoonioo, originally before you did anything to your player, both showed 8GB as there was a memory hack on your player.
Now after you formatted it, the real memory is shown as 128MB (minus about 19MB for player firmware), as the memory hack has been removed in the process.
Also, you have opened up your player to physically check the memory chip's serial number and by checking with Samsung & Hynix's website, the memory chips corresponds to the 128MB.

There is nothing you can do to regain the 8GB, as simply there was never 8GB in your player from the beginning, it was 128MB.

:(( thank you for this bad news... now i go to this man who sell me this players and kill him hrrr...

Re: Loss Of Memory

Yes, you should demand a full refund for the both players from your seller. Prices for a 8GB & 128MB player are way too far apart.

And also you might take note that there isin't any 8GB or 4GB flash memory players currently. Except Apple iPod 8GB Nanos which were recently introduced, and 4GB Nanos since a long time ago.

Good luck.

antoonioo 21st Sep 2006 12:57 pm

hmmm i have one more of this player, the same 8gb.. :( and it's working but when i copy big files then player restart and when i copy 3 folders with music a see only two folders...and now i'm thinking what i should do with this player??
the chip serial is: hynix HY27UF081G2m
TCB 547A
it is possible to repair this??

antoonioo 22nd Sep 2006 12:10 am

and i have another question... when open Product_Toolsv2.8 there is options "erase flash".... and now i'm thinking what's happend when i click this button?

tadad1 22nd Sep 2006 12:56 am

antoonioo, The Hynix HY27UF081G2M is 1 GigaBit which is only 128 MegaBytes as well.

http://www.hynix.com/datasheet/eng/f...27UF081G2M.jsp

The "Erase Flash" button will completely erase your firmware from your chip.

antoonioo 22nd Sep 2006 2:26 am

it is possible to change this my 8gb to real 1gb?
and when i completely erase firmware from chip can i do something with tis player??

tadad1 22nd Sep 2006 2:38 am

antoonioo,
I do not recommend you erase the flash as you may not be able to reload your firmware.

If you are concerned about your chips size do a double format with MP3 Player Disk Tool by going to the Partition Encrypt tab and move slider all the way right and format then move it all the way left again and format again.

antoonioo 22nd Sep 2006 3:15 am

i do like that you say and now i have only 108mb :(

antoonioo, as mentioned earlier in this thread, according to the memory chip number you typed, both the Samsung & Hynix chips are 128MB memory chips. After formatting you have 108Mb as some space are used up by the player's firmware.

You can't do anything to make your memory chip back to 1GigaByte or 8GigaByte. As simply your memory chip is only 128MB. Simply saying, you can't store 8Litres of water in a 1Litre bottle.

razzer001 22nd Sep 2006 3:56 am

go get a refund and do not buy from that person again, remember the largest size memory for a mpx player is ONLY 2GB right now!

If you see ads or sellers selling players with more memory than this, 100% the players have been hacked and will have a lot less memory than advertised.
