MYKO MP3/MP4 PLAYER

Hi folks,

This is my first post in this forum and I hope someone could help me! I've just bought a MYKO MP3/MP4 PLAYER but its User's Manual is extremely confusing... I just don't know how to manage the player itself. I can copy .mp3 files into it (512Mb internal memory) but haven't found a way to manage the folders. The player supports SD cards but all the files in the card are displayed together and I wish I could manage the files by folders... and, finally, there is a recording function that I don't understand how it works at all...

Welcome to the forum.

The first thing we have to determine is what type of chip your player users.

Different chips have different menu and functions.

In your menu settings, there should be an item called "System" or "Setup". In there, there should be something about "Firmware Info". If you can find that out and post it, that would help.

Also, have you tried using the s1res tool to try to extract your firmware? If it does extract it, then it's an ACTIONS board, which is better as there are more tools available for it.

Thanks for the tips. The menu options available in my device are:
1) Select Media
2) Record Set
3) My Picture
4) FM Radio
5) Language
6) Disk Manage
7) Screen Set
8) My eBooks
9) Dictionary
10) Equalizer
11) Repeat Set

In the "Disk Manage" there is a "Firmware Ver" oprion that only displays "Feb 24 2006 - 13:03:43". The only other information I could see is that when I turn it on there is a "MVS" logo. And WindowsXP recognizes it as a LinkWin MVS Player USB Device.

Another information is that when I plug it into my PC I just see an extra drive in Windows Explorer, as a pen drive (512Mb). I've tried atjupload, easyfw and s1fwx_v30 but NONE of them could detect my device! Is there any other utility to extract the firmware or just to try to identify it?

Looks very similar to a player I have.
It seems to me you have either a Sigmatel or Sunplus chipset on your player.

Try this tool: "UDisk Checker" downloadable from here.

It should give you a better indication to what your device is.

You can also try the Sigmatel Firmware Extractor from here. It will work if you have a Sigmatel chip.

Unfortunately, I haven't found a Sunplus Firmware extractor yet...

Check the contents of your cd as well. You might find some tools on there and also firmware too.

In terms of answering your original question, with my player (similar to yours), I had to put music in a folder called "MP3". Or try "Music". Otherwise it won't play it. I don't think it will find the music if you just copy it into the root of the device.

Try that and let me know.

The Sigmatel Firmware Extractor didn't work

Now, I can put it to work... the only problem is that I've found a way to manage the folders so ALL files come together in sequence. For example, if I want to select the 3rd file from the 5th folder in my SD card this is almost impossible once I'll have to go through every previous file in the card.

Anyway, now I know I have a LinkWin - SunPlus device!!!
