Default Alot of questions... Need alot of help that's for sure.

I've just recently recieved my MP4 nano knockoff 2gb. It has all 2gb and the buttons all work. I'm really new to MP3/MP4. So i do not really know much about where to even begin.

For the bad news it restarts after a few seconds of the song starting but it like makes a really bad noise before and i cannot go back before the MP4 restarts.

Whenever i put a video on it and i try to play it it always says format error, or it says no files to play.

I put all the songs and stuff into 1 folder because whenever i try to switch folders it just restarts again.

When i try to record it says Disk Error!

This is what it says under Firmware Version
ACTS16D_37
2006/04/14

3.5.37-001
2006/4/14

I will probley edit this with more questions...

defmudtheft,
I think you should contact your seller for replacement as the player restarting and disk error warnings could be hardware related with no easy fix.
With your video Format Error warnings generaly can be fixed by lowering the frame rate to medium when you convert to AMV.

It seems either a problem with the flash memory in your player or it has been 'hacked' to show more memory than it actually has (hence the "disk error" message as it might be trying to write to that 'hacked' area.

My first suggestion is to FORMAT the player. Use either Windows Explorer or the "Disk Tool" as part of MP3 Player Utilities install.

Take a note of the memory size BEFORE and AFTER the format as well.

Try that and let me know what happens.

Alright i formatted it last night and i have yet to try and put a video on it. It said 1.98GB before and after the format. I put about 50 songs on it and the 50th song everytime i try to go to it freezes. I also cannot put on certain files of music that i have downloaded for some reason...
