Default Another "My Memory Isn't What it Used To Be" Probl

After a fair amount of research, I have come to the conclusion that I got scammed from 1G to 512 Mb. However, the only place that it indicates 512 Mb is on the partition page of the "MP3 Player Utility 3.68" software. I tried doing all levels of formatting available with the included tool, and downloaded the HP disk formatting tool. Still, it indicates 998 Mb everywhere except for the partition tab of Utilities 3.68.

I don't have a tiny little screwdriver; is there another method of diagnosing this without dismantling the little ipod look-alike?

Help is appreciated.

klondiked, Not really, sometimes they can be a pig to format. If you remove all the files from your player and go to Settings>Memory how much memory does it say you have used with no files on the player?
Have you tried the double format with MP3 Player Disk Tool where you go to the Partition Encrypt tab and move slider all the way right and format then move it all the way left again and format again.

That did the trick, formatting it with the maximum partition and then with no partition. It now reads 512 everywhere. Thanks for your help.
