How to delete recording

Hi, I hope someone can help me.

I recently bought a little MP3/4 player, complete with instructions in pidgin English. In an effort to get rid of the Carpenters, I deleted all my music tracks, and then somehow recorded something in "Record" mode. I have no idea what it is, but it took hours and takes up so much memory I can't record any music.

I've been pressing every combination of keys I can think of, but I never get any option for deleting that recording.

Does anyone know how to delete a recording?

Oh, and how do you set the time?

An easy way would be to connect your player to your computer and browse for the WAV recorded file and delete the file directly using your computer.

Not sure which model of player you have, but generally for my nano-clone, go to the voice recording player, then press menu, you will see a list of options, chose delete and click menu, now you will see the recorded file in WAV format, select it and click menu, now select the option that says delete and click menu again. The file would be now deleted.

And for the time setting, go to System Tools, select Clock. Next using the Play/Pause button to move between the date and time, and the FWD/BWD buttons to increase/decrease the date and time.

Thanks, I'll see how much of that I can do. I've got a Linnux based computer, so I have problems with some of the applications.

EileenG,

Majority of the software that would have come with your player probably won't be suitabled for Linux (or Mac's).

What others have done is installed a PC emulator and then install the software on that instead to use.

Hope that helps.

Yes, I've already discovered that. Would it be worth going along to a cyber cafe and seeing if I could do it on their machine?

Perhaps you could try using the PC Emulator as admin had mentioned.
Not sure about how it works, as i'm on XP.
If it works fully for you, it would be better, more convenient and saves you money from going to cyber cafes.
But cyber cafes should be able to do the job, most of them are using winXP or win2k.

I went to the cyber cafe, he plugged in my player, put in the disc and his whole system crashed! He rebooted and tried again, but even after twenty minutes of trying various things involving his own MP3 player and music files, nothing.

He didn't charge me either.

What were you trying to install from the disc though?

If you just plug your MPx player into the computer at the cyber cafe, it should detect it as a drive and will enable you to delete your recording.

I'm not sure exactly what he was doing, he did all the work while I sat and watched. But he said that he gets half a dozen mp3 players a day and always manages to get them going again, and seemed very offended that this one wasn't working.
