Hi - First of many posts with my new Mp4 player !

Hi Guys,

First post here. Just received my MP4 player, bought from Ebay. It's a black 2Gb with 1.8in screen. I have used the s1fwx tool to extract my firmware. Then I used the s1res tool to change a few screens (I used the 1.8 ipod screens in the download section). So far the boot and end screens work perfectly. However, the Main Screens in my player (Music, Record, Radio, etc) are actually made up using 6 different screens to form a moving picture. I want to use the Ipod list type of screen. Will I have to copy the same list-type screen to all 6 positions ?

Regards,
Gary

Hi Guys,

Ok, I just copied one list-type screen into my firmware, but I've noticed a problem. As i said, the Main Screens are made up of 6 images. One is a top header, I think one is a side filler, and the other four are all slightly different versions of the same image (i.e. to create a spinning disc for Music). This means that all the images are different sizes. However, when i copy my list-type screen into a position, it shows the menu-list the same size as the image that was there before. Is there any way that s1res can change the size of the screen (as the image is already the correct size, but some parts are not shown) ?

Regards,
Gary

GAH, it sounds like you may have the lotus flower theme on your player. If so your menu screens consist of a header, 1 side piece which is desplayed twice, on the left and on the right of the animated icon and 4 icon images which change to form the animation.
"Nablish" has done a clasic iPod menu in 1.8 that should suit you simply use the same image 4 times for the animation so that it appears static. You can download it here

Hi Tadad1,

Thanks for that info. I used Nablish's images, and it worked perfectly (and I removed the text headers from the mstring section. So far, I have changed the start-up and end screens, the battery icon, and the menu screens. There are loads of other screens I'd like to change (like the screens that come up when you are playing music or listening to the radio), so I'll have a look about to see what else is available.

Regards,
Gary
